Bi-plane that is! Last year I picked up a little Micro RC plane, the Champ. The wings were snapped, the tail was mangled, but it was the ready to fly kit, so it had the transmitter, battery and charger and the main body of the plane looked good. That and it was only $10. So I replaced the busted stuff, and I have been flying it around, and generally having a good time. I had been thinking about grafting the wing ends onto the existing wings to make a sailplane of sorts, but then I got strange and decided that two wings was teh way to go.

An afternoon, and one meat package later...

Kinja'd!!!

I still have yet to take her out and give the new wings a try, but it should make a nice slow flyer.

It doesn't fly quite as well as you would think, adds too much drag for the tiny 1-cell motor.

Took it out for a flight this morning, and the biggest problem was that it just wants to climb like a son of a gun. I had the trim maxed, and still had the stick in a dive just to get level flight. I do have a bigger battery from a Mosquito micro, and I think I will try to make that fit in instead. Everything else was really nice otherwise, and it had a really nice scale speed to it.
